PNP: PM’s Uncertified Statutory Declarations Compromises His Ability to Govern

General Secretary of the Opposition People’s National Party, Dr. Dayton Campbell, has suggested that Prime Minister Andrew Holness’ uncertified statutory declarations have compromised his ability to effectively lead the government.

Dr. Campbell made the suggestion while addressing party faithfuls in Mark Golding’s South St. Andrew constituency over the weekend.

Campbell’s comment comes amid heightened speculation as to the contents of a series of reports sent to Parliament by the Integrity Commission.

Chevon Campbell reports.

It was a buoyant and confident Dayton Campbell who repeatedly hammered Prime Minister Andrew Holness over what he claims are the outstanding integrity issues plaguing the government.

He suggested those issues have compromised Holness’ ability to lead the Cabinet.

The PNP General Secretary is warning the Labour Party and its supporters that the base of the PNP will not stand by and allow its President, Mark Golding, to be attacked.

Dr. Campbell is alleging the Prime Minister cannot match Mr. Golding’s track record on integrity.

It should be noted that there’s no evidence available that suggests the Prime Minister has committed any act of corruption.

As the country awaits the tabling of the Integrity Commission’s reports, Dr. Campbell says the time has come to rescue the country’s reputation.
